The American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) and Mpls.St.Paul Magazine are co-sponsoring the annual ASID Showcase Home Tour right in our own back yard at 325 Dayton Avenue, St. Paul. As a community partner of this exciting nonprofit event, CHMS must staff volunteers as for the last week of the Home Tour: June 2 and June 5-9.

Volunteers will serve as hosts for the newly renovated and professionally designed Queen Anne Victorian home of the Blessing Family (CHMS founders) and their new venture, The St. Paul Bed & Breakfast.

Daily volunteer shifts have been divided up into AM and PM shifts, 3.5 hours each. Sign up for a shift that works for you – half day, whole day, or multiple days! The cost patrons pay to see the Showcase Home is $20, so this is your opportunity to see it for FREE, speak knowledgeably about this fantastic historic home, and at the same time, represent our wonderful Montessori school. We must staff 5 volunteers, for the AM and PM shifts for 6 days of the tour to earn our reward of $2500! You may have asked your child what it is they did at school on a particular day, without much feedback. This is the time where children invite parents into their Montessori environment and show you what “work” they can do. This is a special moment for the children, as they proudly show off their classroom to you and take out the activities that are of great interest them. The Celebration of Learning is designed to give parents a glimpse into what their children are capable of and to provide the children with an opportunity to present their hard-earned skills, which builds up their self-esteem and reveals their independence.

Parents will be asked to sign up for a time:

Toddler Community – 5:30 / 6:00 / 6:30 PM

Children’s House – 5:30-6:15PM or 6:15-7:00PM
