Nadiya Rapp, Board Member

Image 4Nadiya Rapp is a Montessori enthusiast and educator. She began her career in education when she completed a Bachelor’s degree in Foreign Language Instruction and a Master’s degree in English as a Foreign Language at the North-Kazakhstan State University.

When the opportunity presented itself, Nadiya became a toddler teacher at Little Flowers Montessori School in Saint Louis Park, MN. During her seven years of work with toddlers she witnessed firsthand how the Montessori method fosters independence from an early age.

In 2012 Nadiya joined the team of Cathedral Hill Montessori School. During the two years of working as an assistant teacher in the Children’s House, she acquired more insight into the Montessori method and its implementation with the primary children.

In 2013, Nadiya was inspired her to pursue an elementary Montessori diploma from the Montessori Training Center in Saint Paul. After working for many years with young children in a Montessori setting, Nadiya was intrigued to learn how the Montessori method works in the elementary level. She also became an active member of the Association Montessori Internationale.

Nadiya is still undergoing her training and is expected to graduate in August 2015. She welcomes an opportunity to work as an assistant teacher at Cornerstone Elementary School in Saint Paul in the upcoming school year.

Scott LeGere, Board Member

IMG_2926A Montessori Child himself (exact dates not important), Scott LeGere has played key roles in the ownership and operation of audio recording facilities, independent record labels, media schools, and commercial music production companies. During this time he has engineered Grammy nominated albums with some of his musical idols and produced Clio, Emmy, and Cannes Lion award winning commercial spots for clients including Target, Bauer Hockey, and BluDot among others.

In addition to his industry endeavors, Scott chairs the Music Business Department at the McNally Smith college of Music, attempting to distill some wisdom from the above “career” to his students- most of whom would rather just make records or play guitar than worry about business issues. He doesn’t blame them.

The father of Lena in Children’s House 2, Scott ardently believes in the power of the Montessori Method for developing self-confidence, curiosity, and creativity in individuals both young and old.
